Founded in 1969 in the beautiful little village of LAVENHAM in Suffolk, northeast London, the company is named after the village. The founder, Mrs. Elliot, was a lady-in-waiting servant of Queen Elizabeth, but at one point she came up with the idea of using quilted fabrics to make a horse blanket on which she could ride. Nylon quilted hose blanket, invented by Mrs. Elliot from jute hemp, which has poor heat retention and is easy to get wet, has spread throughout the UK and has established itself in the riding equipment industry. Later, at the request of equestrian enthusiasts, the nylon quilted jacket was introduced, pioneering the concept of high fashion and high quality in equestrian training wear.
