既存ラインとは違う手法で、「拘り」と「限定数量」で展開するIRREGULAR LINE。

2nd Collectionとなる今回は、オイルドクロスにスポットをあてたリメイクアイテムをリリースします。
近年、古着を含めファッションアイテムとして高い人気を誇るオイルドクロスのアイテムは元来、漁師や港湾労働者の為に提供されていたという事もあり、防水性と耐久性に優れた素材が最大の特徴と言えます。また、着用によるエイジングを楽しめるという点も人気の一因のようです。

今回の2nd Collectionは、人気が高まっている古着の調達ルートと縫製工場を探すという既存の物作りとは違う流れからスタートしました。

調達した古着のオイルドクロスのアイテムを一度解体し、各パーツの組み立てから縫製と、非常に手間と時間のかかる工程を踏んでいます。
オイルを染み込ませた生地を縫うには針やミシンそのものにオイルが付着するというデメリットがあり、どこの工場でも縫製が出来るというものではありません。
限られた工場や設備（ライン）でしか縫製出来ず、慣れや経験も必要となります。

そのような経緯を経て、オイルドクロスを使用したアイテムではあまり見かけないデザインのBOMBER JACKET、CPO JACKET、VESTの3アイテムを製作しました。3アイテム全て中綿入りとなり、既存ラインでは使用する事が少ないriri社製のファスナーを採用しています。

着用によるエイジングを楽しみつつ、オイル入れのメンテナンスをする事でまた違った雰囲気を楽しむ事が出来ます。

IRREGULAR LINE‐The limited collection with full of interest

Introducing the second collection from IRREGULAR LINE which spotlights remake items made with oiled cloth.
Oiled cloth items are getting quite popular from fashion perspective recent years. Originally they were provided for fishermen and port workers, so it can be said that the greatest feature of them are the waterproof and durable. Also, you can enjoy aging by wearing them that also supporting the boom.

This 2nd Collection started with a new approach – searching for channel to source vintage clothes and a sewing factory.

We took apart of the sourced oiled cloth items first, then assembled and sewed each part. It took quite a bit of work. The difficulty of sewing oiled cloth is that the oil adheres to the needle and the sewing machine itself, so it is not possible to sew at any factory. Sewing can only be done with limited factories and equipment (lines), and it also requires experience.

Going through such process, we produced three items - BOMBER JACKET, CPO JACKET, and VEST, which designs are not often seen in oiled cloth items. All three items are padded and use riri zippers, which are rarely used in existing lines.

While enjoying aging by wearing, you can enjoy a different atmosphere by maintaining the item with oil.
